A before/after.

One made-up product page, built twice. The left panel is what a coding agent produces when nobody intervenes; the right panel is the same content run through the restraint-framework skill. TaskFlow does not exist. The patterns on the left arrive unrequested in real agent output every day.

Red marks on the left are the skill’s critique, applied where the problems live. Hover a note to light up what it refers to.

What changed, and why it matters

  1. 1
The hero earns its place with a mechanism. “Supercharge your productivity” could headline any product in existence — the portability test fails on sight. “A to-do list that works offline” names what it does and the condition it does it under.
  2. 2
No invented numbers. 10x, 50k, 99.99% and “Sarah M., CEO” have no source, so they are gone. What replaces them is checkable: a download size, a public issue tracker, a pricing commitment before the first charge.
  3. 3
Feature cards become facts. Three interchangeable cards with emoji are decoration doing hierarchy’s job. The after lists capabilities with their mechanism and a consequence — “works on a plane” beats “blazing-fast” because it is either true or false.
  4. 4
Buttons predict their result. Three “Get Started” buttons told you nothing about what happens next. “Download for macOS, Windows, Linux” is an action you can evaluate before taking.
  5. 5
One accent color, used twice. The before runs a gradient hero, a yellow pill button, and a lavender stats band; three areas compete for the first glance. The after keeps a single accent for the two links that do something.
  6. 6
The voice stops performing. “Effortlessly,” “next level,” and the life-changing testimonial were telling the reader how to feel. The after states the facts and stops.
